Who owns this app

My Community Map by MyKey is developed and owned by MyKey Consulting Services LLC, based in Bothell, Washington. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean MyKey Consulting Services LLC. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What the app is, and is not

The app is an educational support tool. It offers a list of places you like, an activity planner, a getting-there plan and community goals, to help a person get out in the community with more independence.

It is not a navigation, map, transit or emergency service. It does not give directions, and it does not know where anyone is.
The places, addresses, times and prices you type are your own. We do not check them. Check opening hours, prices, routes and safety yourself before you go.
The Getting There Plan is a planning guide. It is not supervision, and it does not check on anyone. Plan trips with a family member or support person who knows you.
Rideshare and taxi apps have their own age rules and terms. Plan rideshare or taxi trips with a family member.
It supplements, and does not replace, an IEP, a 504 plan, a transition plan, or guidance from a teacher, job coach or other qualified professional.
We do not promise that using the app will lead to any particular result.

Not for emergencies

Do not use the app to get help in an emergency. If someone is in danger or lost and unsafe, call 911.

Free to use

The app is free. Nothing is sold inside it, and no account is needed.

Your work

What you type is yours and stays on your device. We do not have a copy and cannot bring it back if it is erased or your device is lost. Keep your own copy of anything important.

Other people's information

Please do not type home addresses or phone numbers, yours or anyone else's. For people, use first names, nicknames or words like "Mom".

Using the app the right way

You agree that you will not use the app to break the law, and that you will not try to break, overload, copy or take apart the app.

Our work

The app belongs to MyKey Consulting Services LLC. This includes its design, text, checklists, tips, artwork, and the MyKey name. You may use them for your own personal, family or educational use. Please do not copy, sell or republish them without our written permission.

Copyright concerns

If you believe something in the app copies your work, email hello@mykeyplans.com with your name and contact details, the work you believe was copied, where it appears, and a statement that you are the owner or act for the owner. We will look into it promptly and remove content where that is right.

Accessibility

We want this app to work for everyone. Our Accessibility page explains what we do and how to tell us about a barrier.

The service as it is

We provide the app "as is" and "as available", without promises that it is complete, correct, current, or always available.

To the fullest extent the law allows, MyKey Consulting Services LLC is not responsible for trips, outings, activities or meetings planned using the app, places or information you typed, lost work, or indirect or incidental losses that come from using the app. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to $100. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. If you keep using the app after a change, you agree to the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
